Rangers need a striker and Gerrard has admitted he is after Roma’s Umar Sadiq.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has already brought seven new players to Ibrox this summer but still needs to sign a striker before the end of the transfer window, and an ex-Celtic forward could be the perfect recruit.
The Gers are interested in Roma striker Umar Sadiq, according to manager Gerrard, who admitted to the Scottish Sun this week that he is looking to land the 6ft 5in target man this summer.
However, Sadiq scored five goals in 12 league games for Dutch side NAC Breda while on loan with the top-tier side last term, but remains far from the finished article.

Instead, the Gers need to consider signing a striker with Scottish Premiership experience in order to provide Alfredo Morelos with top-quality competition and bring the best out of the Colombian – or indeed improve the goalscorer.

English Championship side Reading are interested in signing Finland international Teemu Pukki – according to the Daily Mail – but Gerrard should consider rivalling the Royals and move for the former Celtic striker.
Pukki joined Celtic in the summer of 2013, and made 38 appearances for the Hoops – scoring nine goals. Though it seems a poor record on the surface, he started only 19 of those.
Since then, he has joined Brondby where he scored 29 goals in 2016-17, and 19 last season. Now, Pukki is available on a free transfer and is set to leave the Danish giants.
Gerrard has already spent a large chunk of transfer money on the likes of Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and Jamie Murphy, so signing a striker for nothing will be viewed as more than favourable by the Gers board.
Scottish football experience, in the form of his life after 48 goals in two seasons, and on a free – Pukki can show Celtic they were wrong to let him go by joining arch enemies Rangers.
