Glasgow Rangers wanted to bring Ali Crawford to Ibrox previously, and they should now look again at the midfielder.

After scoring eight goals and contributing four assists in the Scottish Premiership last season, Rangers fans would have been forgiven for wanting to see the Gers make a move for Hamilton’s Ali Crawford after previously being linked with the midfielder.
HITC Sport exclusively revealed in January 2017 that Crawford was a target for the Light Blues after proving particularly impressive in the top flight. He, of course, silenced the Ibrox crowd of the opening day of the season with a stunning goal to bring Mark Warburton’s men back down to earth after their promotion.

The 26-year-old has been more underwhelming this season, but perhaps the Gers should still consider making a move at the end of the season as he will be available for nothing.
According to transfermarkt, the midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season, and that should tempt Rangers to keep a close eye on his form between now and the summer in the hope that he starts showing signs of the impressive form he displayed last year.
Rangers have a number of good players in the middle of the park, but they have had injury issues there this season and current stalwart Sean Goss is only at Ibrox on loan for the rest of the campaign. They will also be hoping to have European football on their agenda next term, and that could stretch the squad.

It must also be noted that Crawford could need little help adapting to life at Rangers given that he has played alongside Gers January signing Greg Docherty on numerous occasions in the past, so he may also help the hugely-impressive youngster take his game up a level if he did arrive.
Rangers should not look too closely if Crawford does not impress in the final weeks of the season, but if he does rediscover some of his previous form, looking at him on a summer free transfer should definitely be a no-brainer for the Gers.
