Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney is a ‘major injury doubt’ for the clash with Rangers this month, according to The Scottish Sun.

Both Old Firm enemies renew hostilities at Parkhead on Sunday week, after the international break.

If Tierney is out, it’s a big blow for Celtic and Gers boss Steven Gerrard should capitalise in the most ruthless way.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon will be forced to pick one of Jonny Hayes or Emilio Izaguirre as Tierney’s deputy – and the Rangers manager should throw a curveball in the form of Ryan Kent.

Daniel Candeias has been excellent for the Ibrox outfit this season, but left-sided winger Kent is far more likely to terrorise either Hayes or Izaguirre.

The Liverpool loanee has been outstanding under Gerrard and could do serious damage to whoever Lennon selects at left-back.

Hayes has played half-an-hour of football in four weeks, while Izaguirre is only back from injury.

Somebody of Kent’s speed and skill could have an absolute field day and Lennon wouldn’t see it coming, but time will tell whether Gerrard employs that tactic.
