It is looking increasingly likely that Rangers have decided Pedro Caixinha is the man to replace Mark Warburton at Ibrox.
The Herald reported this morning that the Al Garafah boss is the overwhelming favourite for the job.
It is something of an odd move from the club, to move for an unknown Portuguese manager. But he has tasted success in his career and has one player he often calls upon.
Cape Verde international Djaniny first made a name for himself in the game in Portuguese football at Uniao Leira. During that time he was managed by Caixinha for a brief spell in 2011, but it was the Rangers candidate who signed him to his first pro deal.
The pair never worked together in their respective spells at Nacional but when Caixinha wanted a powerful forward in Mexico at Santos Laguna – he made a move for Djaniny.
The pair have lifted trophies in Mexican football, so should Caixinha bring him to Rangers?

The 25-year-old is a strong and powerful attacker who can play wither through the middle or out wide.
His speed and power would be a massive asset at Ibrox and Rangers fans would certainly love to see a player of this calibre heading to Glasgow.
Expect this name to do the rounds if Caixinha does, as expected, get the Rangers job.
