Glasgow Rangers should consider a move to try and bring the striker to Ibrox this summer with Steven Gerrard’s options currently sparse.

Despite being the highest goalscorers in the Scottish Premiership this past season, Rangers arguably need to strengthen their striker options during the summer with Steven Gerrard arriving at a point where Alfredo Morelos seems to have no confidence in front of goal and Jason Cummings is set to return to his parent club if the Gers decide against a permanent bid for the loanee.
Eduardo Herrera has not been able to prove himself during his first year at Ibrox and it would be a major surprise if he is seen in a Rangers shirt again, while the other options available to Gerrard hardly capture the imagination or are still learning their trade for the development side.

Rangers need a marquee forward addition this summer, and that should perhaps tempt the Gers to have a look at a loan move for West Ham’s Jordan Hugill if the Hammers are unable to sell the 25-year-old during the window.
The Daily Mirror has reported that the Irons hope to offload the £8 million signing who has desperately struggled for opportunities since arriving at the London Stadium. He made just three appearances for the Hammers, all of which came from the bench when there was 10 minutes or less remaining.

His impressive record at Preston North End may tempt some big-spending Championship sides to consider an offer, but it would be little surprise if the sides that really wanted him were reluctant to follow up on their interest given how much West Ham may perhaps want for him in light of how much they paid.
Rangers may not have the funds to buy, but if West Ham struggle to sell the striker permanently, Gerrard should certainly offer to take him on loan for the season as he may prove to be a fantastic option for a Gers side that were not able to dramatically change strategy this past season when either Morelos or Cummings was struggling to make an impact.
He would provide that physicality up top that would give Rangers that ability to swiftly change their approach. And a loan move to Ibrox should certainly appeal to West Ham as it may enable Hugill to score the goals that may tempt more sides to offer his asking price this time next year if the Hammers are still determined to sell.
Hugill may not prove prolific, but he could tick a lot of boxes for Rangers this summer so they should definitely wait in the wings in case selling him permanently proves to be too difficult for West Ham.
