Rhian Brewster looks set to be given more game time at Liverpool after signing a new deal so should Rangers take a look at Danny Ings?

Liverpool have agreed a first professional contract with Rhian Brewster, reports the Telegraph, ending speculation the forward could leave the club.

Brewster is set to put pen to paper on a five-year deal and stop a host of Bundesliga sides closing in on the 18-year-old – with the Reds threatening to report Borussia Monchengladbach to Fifa for an illegal approach.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the teenager and is expected to show that by giving the attacker a chance in the first team next season.

Who could leave as a result?

When rumours about Brewster exiting Anfield were rife a few weeks ago, it was reported by Goal that if the youngster stayed two of Danny Ings, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge would be leaving as a result.

New Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is sure to be watching any transfer developments at his former club with great interest, knowing that his strong links to the Merseysiders will give him an advantage in acquiring players.

That has already been shown with the loan signing of Ovie Ejaria, while the Scottish Sun claimed earlier this month that Dominic Solanke was also interested in joining up with Gerrard at Ibrox.

While that would remain an attractive prospect, should Ings also be on Gers’ radar – especially with the 25-year-old expected to be moving this summer following the developments concerning Brewster’s future?

The striker has struggled with injuries, but was once highly rated in English football and Gerrard himself was actually very complimentary about the England international when he first signed from Burnley in 2015, telling the Liverpool official website:

“The Ings one (signing) I’m really excited about because he can be what he wants to be – I know the talent’s there, he’s very young, he’s fresh.

“I think if he carries on learning and developing he can become a top striker and we love top strikers, so the stage is there and I wish (him) the best of luck and I’m looking forward to watching (him) play.”
