The Gillingham midfielder is wanted at the City Ground, but could be perfect at Ibrox.
Tottenham’s Harry Winks in action with Gillingham’s Josh Wright
It is being reported today by The Sun that Mark Warburton is keen on the signature of Gillingham midfielder Josh Wright.
The report claims that Mark Warburton is a fan of the player, who is being eyed up as a potential replacement for Henri Lansbury – who joined Aston Villa in January.
The 27-year-old has been in fine form for Gillingham this season, playing 41 times for the club and scoring 12 goals. Forest, according to The Sun, may be able to get the player in a cut-price deal.
He is out of contract with Gillingham in 2018 and that could see Forest get their man for as little as £100,000 this summer.
Former Rangers manager Mark Warburton during the match
It sounds as though Warburton has been a fan of the player for some time, so could he have been a hit at Rangers?
His energetic midfield style would have certainly been welcomed at Ibrox, if Warburton had gotten the chance to snap him up. At that price, he certainly fits the price-range for a Rangers player at present.
Even if Warburton gone Rangers might want to consider whether a move for Wright is a good idea at such a low price.
They’d also be getting one over on their former manager in the process.
