Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have tried and failed to sign Martin Skrtel for a second time, according to a report.

Martin Skrtel has reportedly rejected the chance to join Rangers…..for a second time.
Turkish outlet Fotospor claimed on Tuesday that the former Liverpool centre-back has rejected a reunion with Steven Gerrard at Rangers.
Skrtel, who earns £70,000 per week with Fenerbahce [Fotospor] ,also turned down a move to Ibrox last summer and it’s probably time for Gerrard to move on at this stage.
The Slovakia defender wouldn’t be a bad signing, but he turns 35 this year and the Gers boss should be looking at younger models.
Gareth McAuley looked a good signing on paper last summer, but the veteran Northern Ireland international has contributed very little to the cause this season.
He might be a few years older than Skrtel, but the point is that Gerrard’s centre-back targets should have a balance of experience and not be too far over the hill.
Plus, £70,000 per week over a two-year contract would equate to a £7 million commitment by the light Blues, if he refused a wage cut.
It’s steep, too steep for a player in the twilight of a brilliant career. Gerrard has given Skrtel a second chance to join and there shouldn’t be a third invitation.
