Aston Villa are considering cancelling Ross McCormack’s contract and he could be ideal for Rangers.

Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens bought a majority stake in the club in July and Bruce is now hoping he can convince the duo to resolve a long-running problem with these two players.
Neither McCormack or Richards have been included in Villa’s squad for this season, despite them both being among the highest paid players at the club.
What next for McCormack?
For the first half of last term the Scotland international was sent on loan to Melbourne City, impressing in the A League with 14 goals in 17 appearances before returning to Birmingham at the end of January.
While McCormack and Bruce never really rebuilt their relationship following an infamous bust-up back in January 2017, clearly the 31-year-old still has plenty to offer.

Which is why Rangers might consider bringing the forward back to where it all started for him during his football career, with the Scot coming through the youth system at Ibrox.
Gers manager Steven Gerrard could well be in the market for a new attacker following the departure of Josh Windass to Wigan Athletic and as a free transfer, McCormack could represent a realistic option – depending on his wage demands.
