Glasgow Rangers are keen on Connor Goldson, but perhaps they should also look at bringing his teammate to Ibrox this summer.

Gerrard will be hoping that Goldson will add depth to an area of the field where Rangers look particularly vulnerable right now as the new Gers boss begins what he may be looking to turn into a substantial overhaul of the squad.

Another area that Gerrard must look at during the coming months is up front. Jason Cummings’ loan spell has ended, while Alfredo Morelos’ form was inconsistent and there are question marks hanging over his own future.
Gerrard therefore, should perhaps consider looking at Goldson’s Brighton teammate Tomer Hemed as he looks to bolster the striker ranks, with the 31-year-old looking for a way out of the Premier League side this summer.

The Daily Mirror (04/06; page 53) reports that the Israel international wants to leave Chris Hughton’s side having struggled for opportunities this past season. And that should tempt Rangers to make a bid – seven years after they previously tried to sign Hemed.
BBC Sport reported back in 2011 that Hemed was tempted by the chance to move to Ibrox but ultimately decided to join Real Mallorca in La Liga. But Gerrard should hand him another chance to make the switch during this window.
Hemed’s record in England has been impressive. Before the Seagulls’ promotion, he had scored 30 goals in 73 Championship games, while he also provided 10 assists in that time.
He could be a superb addition to Rangers’ squad this summer, and with the forward reportedly unhappy at Brighton, the Premier League side may not be against the idea of doing business with the Light Blues with the two clubs already in talks over Goldson’s future.
