Glasgow Rangers wanted Saido Berahino last January, so perhaps they should consider trying to bring him to Ibrox this month.

It is undoubtedly fair to say that life at Stoke City has not exactly gone to plan for Saido Berahino following his £12 million move (via BBC Sport) to the bet365 Stadium last January.
Berahino is still awaiting his first goal for the Potters 25 games in to his spell with the club. Given his struggles, it may not be a massive surprise if Stoke considered letting him leave in January, even with the side in a precarious position in the Premier League table.

If they any get sense that Stoke would be willing to let him leave, perhaps Rangers should consider reigniting the interest that they showed during the previous January window and make an ambitious loan bid.
The Sun reported one year ago that the Gers were keen to sign Berahino at the end of his West Brom contract, and obviously they missed out on the chance as he headed to the Baggies’ top flight rivals.
It could be an uphill battle trying to convince Stoke into letting Berahino leave until the end of the campaign, but Rangers should at least try to make something happen.

Graeme Murty does not have many striker options to pick from right now so adding more fire-power this month would certainly be a wise move as they look to get themselves back into second place in the Scottish Premiership.
Stoke may be hesitant about letting Berahino leave, but perhaps Rangers suggesting that a move to Ibrox will give him the perfect opportunity to get his confidence in front of goal back may make them consider a loan proposal if the Light Blues do make a move.
At the moment, Berahino’s form does not suggest that he will be able to contribute much during Stoke’s fight against relegation anyway, so the chance to offload him for a few months and give him the opportunity to find some form may prove beneficial ahead of next season.
And if Rangers did decide to reignite their interest and managed to sell a move that way, then perhaps they could pull off a great piece of business if the change of scene helps bring the best out of the 24-year-old.
