Ibrox favourite Josh Windass could be ruled out of Rangers’ clash against Celtic next week.

Rangers attacker Josh Windass could be set to miss next weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park against Old Firm rivals Celtic, so should the Gers regret releasing Niko Kranjcar?
The 24-year-old suffered a calf injury in the 2-2 draw against Motherwell, being substituted in the 82nd minute and now the Gers must look to replace him as he continues to shine in the number 10 role.
Attacking midfielders are pretty sparse at Ibrox, with Carlos Pena leaving to join Mexican side Cruz Azul on loan until the summer of 2019. But the Gers may see a transfer decision of their own backfire.

The Gers agreed to release Niko Kranjcar before the end of his contract – which expired in the summer – as the Croatian remained on the sidelines and without any kind of consistent first-team football.
But with Windass’ injury and now immediate replacement to fill the number 10 void, Rangers should be ruing their decision to release the Croatia international when he would have been the ready-made replacement for Windass.

The Gers will be desperate to have Windass fit for next weekend’s clash, as the former Accrington Stanley man has been in sensational form this season. With or without him, though, they will be looking to stop Celtic from a second treble.
But without him, Rangers lack a player that can operate between midfield and attack such as Windass or Kranjcar are naturally able to do. It should see the Gers regret their decision regarding Kranjcar.
