Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers must challenge Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic for Fabian Schar.

Celtic, according to Spanish outlet El Desmarque, are interested in signing Fabian Schar this summer, and for £3.5 million, Rangers should try get in on the action.
The 26-year-old, who has 35 caps for Switzerland, would be a magnificent coup for the Gers and although Celtic’s interest is fairly ominous, you can’t rule out Gerrard’s presence at Ibrox.
The iconic Liverpool midfielder has a profile that should make life at Ibrox a far more attractive proposition than it was under Graeme Murty or Pedro Caixinha for instance, and there is no reason why Gerrard shouldn’t be challenging the Hoops for Schar.
The 37-year-old’s war chest is rumoured to be around £6 million, and spending a little over half of that on someone of the Deportivo man’s ilk could be money very well spent.
Schar is a very decent player and was once linked with a £9.5 million move to Arsenal [The Mirror]. Gerrard does have the money to compete with Celtic for his signature and beating his old boss Brendan Rodgers to it might set the tone for their transfer window.
