Glasgow Rangers saw Billy Gilmour leave Ibrox, so perhaps they should try and bring a striker in the other direction.

With Billy Gilmour continuing to develop at an alarming rate, Rangers fans would certainly be forgiven for wondering what may have been whenever they hear that the former Gers starlet has notched up another achievement with Chelsea.
If Gilmour continues to progress at his current rate, it seems inevitable that he will reach the very top. And while Rangers supporters will feel an enormous sense of pride when that happens, they will also kick themselves watching him achieve greatness at another club.

While nothing will change that fact, perhaps the Light Blues should try and get their own back on Chelsea somewhat by targeting one of their brightest striker prospects amid reports that the Blues may consider selling during the summer.

Rangers have a cluster of exciting young strikers coming through the ranks, but their first-team options will undoubtedly need bolstering in the summer, with Kenny Miller out of contract, Jason Cummings only on loan and Eduardo Herrera struggling to make the grade. Questions could also be asked of Alfredo Morelos’ form at times.
Taylor-Crossdale may not be the kind of option that solves Rangers’ striker issues immediately, but his record is still extremely impressive and hints that the Gers would be foolish to not join the race.
The 18-year-old has scored eight goals in 13 U18 Premier League games, five in seven in Premier League 2, and two times in six UEFA Youth League appearances.
It may be a gamble, but Chelsea currently have very high hopes for Taylor-Crossdale so Rangers should definitely consider trying to sign the teenager. It may not ease the disappointment over Gilmour’s departure, but it may see the Light Blues pull off a masterstroke of their own if he realises his potential.
