Tottenham Hotspur could surely do a lot worse than consider a move for Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

When Stoke travel to Wembley to face Tottenham this weekend, there will be a few players in the Potters side who Mauricio Pochettino will be extremely wary of.
Mark Hughes’ men have hardly captured the imagination this season in the Premier League, but one player is enjoying an incredibly impressive season – and should perhaps be on Spurs’ radar ahead of the January transfer window, especially if he performs well this weekend.

Xherdan Shaqiri should easily enjoy the most productive league season of his career this term. The Swiss magician has scored four goals and contributed five assists, and just needs to have a direct hand in one more goal to set his new personal best for a league campaign.
The midfielder has been sensational this season, and Pochettino could surely do a lot worse in January than try and tempt Daniel Levy to make a bid for the 26-year-old.

He arguably has the quality to make an impact for Spurs domestically and in the Champions League, and would give Tottenham the additional depth that would certainly help them compete on several fronts.
Pochettino will certainly be hoping that Shaqiri has a stinker at the weekend as it will undoubtedly go a long way to ensuring that Spurs see Stoke off – but if he is impressed by his display on Saturday, perhaps he should consider adding him to his January wishlist.
