Should Tottenham bring back Nacer Chadli from West Brom?

Last summer Tottenham Hotspur made the decision to sell Nacer Chadli to West Brom, wanting to look for alternatives in attack.

Chadli went on to rediscover his best form and earn a recall to Belgium’s international squad, having been dropped for Euro 2016.

Now he is set to become available, with The Telegraph reporting he has been left off West Bromwich Albion’s pre-season tour after a row with manager Tony Pulis.

With Tottenham struggling to sign players this summer, head coach Mauricio Pochettino should at least consider whether he has made a mistake in letting him leave.

The numbers from last season bear out that Tottenham’s duo of Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou could not match what Chadli delivered for West Brom.

Chadli was ideal for Spurs in his role as a squad player, and that is exactly what Tottenham need as they look to strengthen without ripping up their first choice XI.

The Belgian has proved himself a solid Premier League player, who knows what it takes at Spurs to play under Pochettino.

Bringing him back might seem like somewhat of a backwards step, but it would also be a practical move which would improve the current squad, having made an error last season by letting him leave to replace him with inferior players.
