It’s a very, very big day for Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side officially move into their new home for the visit of Crystal Palace.

The stadium, which cost Tottenham £1 billion, was six months late in being completed, but Spurs’ senior players will christen it this week.

But is their long-serving captain going to lead his team-mates out for the very first time?

Hugo Lloris is coming under a lot of fire for his error in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Liverpool, which led to the hosts grabbing a stoppage-time winner.

The France goalkeeper, who won the World Cup last summer, has endured a number of hairy moments for the North Londoners this season and this latest one has a lot of fans wondering whether Pochettino should axe him for Paulo Gazzaniga this week.

It would break Pochettino’s heart to drop his captain on such a big day for the club, but only one point separates sixth-placed Chelsea from the Lilywhites in third.

In other words, three points is an absolute must at this time of the season and the truth is that Lloris has just become too much of a liability.
