Kevin Wimmer has admitted he wants to leave Tottenham so should Crystal Palace look at him as an alternative to Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho?
Kevin Wimmer has admitted that he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but would prefer to stay in the Premier League.
Wimmer has been with Spurs for two years following a 2015 switch from Cologne, but has found regular first team opportunities hard to come by, making 31 appearances in all competitions since then.

“The second season did not go as I hoped for. I would have wished for more playing time,” the centre-back told Austrian publication Laola1.
“Twenty-four is the age at which it’s most important to get regular playing time, and not only train week after week and then follow the match from the bench.
“In the next days and weeks, the main focus will be on which offers there are. We will definitely look around. It’s the right time to look for a place where the chance to get regular playing time is higher. We have already made known to them [Tottenham] that we are on the scout.
“It would be great to stay in Premier League. The league’s really cool and fits my style of play. There is a bit of interest from Premier League clubs and also from Germany. I need to look closely at how things are on Tottenham’s end, what their plans are and what the actual fee would be.”
Well the fee being quoted by the Express and Star for Wimmer is around £20m and they report that West Bromwich Albion have shown early interest in the defender – but are not willing to pay that much for him.
Yet one club who are known to be on the lookout for a new central defender and would be may be willing to meet that asking price are Crystal Palace.

However, at £10m less – which could perhaps be negotiated even lower considering this latest development – perhaps Wimmer would be a better alternative for the South London club.
