Nottingham Forest have yet to replace their departed captain Henri Lansbury.

Burton Albion are in talks to loan Fulham midfielder Lasse Vigen Christensen, according to the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old may not have featured often this season, although his stats for the previous two Championship campaigns certainly read well.

In 52 appearances, Christensen either scored or assisted 17 goals – a ratio of one every three-and-a-bit matches – and one which is marginally better than that of former Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury in the second-tier (one every 3.2 matches) – although Christensen’s drops to one every 3.3 when you factor in this season’s fixtures.

On this evidence, Forest could do far worse than to consider the Dane as Lansbury’s replacement – since he is seemingly going spare.

And with only three places and five points separating the Reds and local rivals Burton, who currently occupy the league’s final relegation spot, they would be wise to block the Brewers’ bid by making one of their own.

Even in Forest’s current state, a move to the City Ground should appeal – and besides, if it is only a loan deal Christensen could still escape should the proverbial hit the fan.

Would Christensen be a good signing for Nottingham Forest?
