Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have made Joe Garner available… so should Nottingham Forest move?

According to a report in the Daily Record, Glasgow Rangers are willing to listen to offers for Joe Garner this summer – meaning it could be the perfect time for Nottingham Forest to move for the forward.
Mark Warburton was the manager who brought Garner to Rangers for a fee of around £1.8 million (Daily Record).
However, things have not worked out perfectly for Garner during his first season at Ibrox.

Although the 29-year-old has endeared himself to Rangers fans through his work-rate, he has not been particularly prolific.
Garner has scored seven goals in 31 matches for Rangers this season, and Pedro Caixinha has now made the forward available at a ‘reduced rate’.
Ipswich Town are the first team to be linked with Garner (Daily Record), but he could be an ideal signing for Forest.

Warburton is known to be an admirer of Garner, and he could form an effective partnership with Britt Assombalonga.
Garner would be able to occupy defenders, leaving Assombalonga with the opportunity to show his goalscoring prowess.
Garner’s last spell with Forest lasted for three years between 2008 and 2011, and there has never been a better time for the Reds to bring the forward back to the City Ground.
