Sunderland’s Vito Mannone celebrates
After yet another below-par game for Nottingham Forest at the weekend many fans at the club are hoping to see a new goalkeeper arrive in January.
Vladimir Stojkovic arrived in the summer to replace the departed Dorus de Vries, with Stephen Henderson struggling to have an impact at the club.
The Serbian impressed early on with some good reaction saves but in time it has become clear he is not consistent enough to be a hit at the Championship level.

So should they take a crack at Sunderland goalie Vito Mannone?
The Italian has just returned from an elbow injury but finds himself behind Jordan Pickford in the Sunderland pecking order. With Portuguese stopper Mika also at the club Sundeland could surely be persuaded into a deal.
Mannone has Championship experience with Hull City and is a former team-mate of Armand Traore, Nicklas Bendtner and Henri Lansbury from their time at Arsenal together – so would have some friendly faces.
Forest are loitering dangerously close to the relegation zone and a top goalie is needed to steer clear.
Mannone could be the perfect option.
