Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion reportedly both want a player from the other club’s squad this summer.

The West Brom striker does not boast a Premier League record that jumps off the page by any means, but he has been a popular player at The Hawthorns during his time with the Baggies and certainly ticks a lot of boxes.

If Benitez is working with a tight budget again this summer, signing Rondon seems to be a very decent option for the Magpies – and perhaps there is now a way for Newcastle to drag that asking price down.

Aarons has certainly not kicked on in recent years, and many Newcastle fans were in favour of a potential move for the 22-year-old during this window as there are serious concerns regarding whether he is still able to reach the first-team at St James’ Park.
If Benitez thinks in a similar way, then perhaps he should reach out to West Brom and suggest that Moore can have Aarons, provided that his arrival lowers Rondon’s asking price, in the hope that a deal can be done that makes a lot more financial sense for the Magpies.
If Newcastle can use a player that they may perhaps be tempted to discard to land one of Benitez’s targets, then it could turn out to be a superb piece of business from the Magpies that West Brom also benefit from given that they could be powerless to prevent Rondon from leaving anyway.
