Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez was a fan of Jese when at Real Madrid.

Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez has confirmed to Estadio Deportivo that Jese will not be signing for them permanently at the end of the season.

Jese made the move to the La Liga side in January, amid fierce competition from Middlesbrough.

Since switching to Las Palmas, Jese has not made a huge impact – and he has scored just two goals to date.

However, Newcastle United should be alerted to his potential availability in the summer transfer window.

Jese appears to have no future at PSG, and the French club will be willing to sell at the next opportunity.

Although Newcastle are likely to need to be able to offer Jese Premier League football, if they are to sign him, Benitez is known to be the fan of the attacker.

Benitez worked with Jese at Real Madrid, and he played the rapid wide-man regularly.

“He’s a player with quality and talent and he has to make the most of his chances,” Benitez said to Goal.com, when talking about Jese.

“That’s the way it is at Real Madrid; the demands are really high and all his teammates are very good.

“He has to work the way he did against Levante, penetrating defenses, and do that continually. It’s very positive for me and for every Real Madrid fan. He has to keep that up because there is a lot of competition.”

Newcastle could now have a chance to sign Jese in the summer, and if they are promoted the Tynesiders should put the 24-year-old on their transfer wishlist.
