Loic Remy scored 14 goals in 26 matches for Newcastle United back in the 2013/14 campaign.

With Crystal Palace deciding against signing Loic Remy from Chelsea on a permanent transfer (the Guardian), the door could be open for Newcastle United to finally make a bid to return the striker to St. James’ Park.
Remy spent one season on loan at Newcastle back in the 2013/14 campaign, and the Frenchman was simply brilliant.
Remy scored 14 goals in 26 matches for the Magpies, but turned down a permanent move in favour of switching to Chelsea.

Since moving to Stamford Bridge, Remy’s career has stalled though.
The former Marseille man has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea, and his spell on loan at Palace has not been productive.
Remy has spent much of his time at Selhurst Park out with injury, and has failed to score in his eight appearances for Sam Allardyce’s side.
Remy is now likely to be looking to leave Chelsea on a permanent deal in the near future, and Newcastle may be able to offer him a home at St. James’ Park.

With Remy needing to rediscover some confidence, a move back to some familiar surroundings could do him the world of good.
And Newcastle fans know all about the quality that Remy could bring to their team, if Rafael Benitez could coax the striker back to his best.
