Newcastle United may have been better off just granting Isaac Hayden his wish for a move.

Rafael Benitez fought hard to keep Isaac Hayden at Newcastle United in the summer, but the signs so far suggest that he may have been better off letting him go.
The Spanish boss felt that Hayden could have a key role to play for the Magpies as the season progressed.
But Hayden’s initial showings this season have been far from impressive.

Hayden was sent off for Newcastle in his first appearance of the season against Cardiff City, and the 23-year-old then failed to impress against Arsenal this weekend.
Hayden looked well off the pace, as Newcastle slipped to a 2-1 defeat against the Gunners.
And Newcastle may well have been better off letting Hayden go, when he wanted to, unless his form improves dramatically.
