Should Newcastle United be worried about reported development?

According to Fanatik, Newcastle United might have competition for Besiktas hitman Cenk Tosun – big competition too.
The Turkish website has reported that Chelsea and Manchester United have both scouted the 26-year-old for the Champions League clash with Porto, where he failed to score.
Turkish Football reported previously that Newcastle were in talks with Tosun’s representatives and the last thing that Magpies boss Rafael Benitez needs is bigger clubs getting involved.

Tosun is a fine striker and has netted nine goals from 14 starts in all competitions this season, meaning that he could well be an excellent January addition for Benitez.
But the more attention he gets, the worse it is for the Spanish manager who should be hoping that his goalless display in the Champions League this week prompts the Premier League heavyweights to leave the race.

Between them, Newcastle’s three strikers – Dwight Gayle, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Joselu – have netted just four league goals this season in a statistic which highlights their need for further firepower.
It must be noted that Mitrovic has only managed 49 minutes in the Premier League, scoring once, and while he is certainly a capable player, the Serbian has revealed this week that he could leave in January.
