The Newcastle United ace has been linked with moved to West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa.
Newcastle United man Isaac Hayden faces an uncertain future on Tyneside, with West Brom and Aston Villa leading the race for his signature, according to the Daily Mail.
The 23-year-old joined the Magpies from Arsenal in the summer of 2016, but he has never really settled at St James Park, making just 47 league starts for Rafa Benitez’s side.
So…which club should Hayden choose, West Brom or Aston Villa?
Baggies
Darren Moore has his West Brom team playing some excellent football, and considering Hayden’s experience of coming through the ranks at Arsenal, the Hawthorns might just be the place for him.
According to the Birmingham Mail, the Baggies are keen to bolster their defensive ranks, and Hayden is known to prefer playing in defence, rather than central midfield, so he seems to be a perfect fit for Moore’s setup in the Black Country.
Villa
Dean Smith also likes to implement an exciting brand of attacking, free-flowing football, but the west Midlands outfit are more in need of a central midfielder than a centre-back, with Glenn Whelan and Mile Jedinak out of contact in the summer.
Villa are also five points adrift of the promotion play-off places, whilst West Brom sit comfortably inside the top six.
Both clubs will obviously prove appealing to Hayden, considering how much closer they are to his London home than Newcastle, but he might just be best served in choosing to join the Baggies, given his positional preference, and the fact that they seemingly have more chance of going up this season than Aston Villa.
