West Bromwich Albion are said to be targeting a move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Hooper.

Hooper has been in brilliant form in the Championship this season, and he has bagged seven goals already.
Brighton, Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion are all said to be keen on the Scottish international and Newcastle United should also consider entering the race.
Rafael Benitez is likely to want to find a new striker to lead the line for Newcastle in January, as the Magpies still need to find a prolific goalscorer.

Newcastle already have the likes of Dwight Gayle and Joselu at St James’ Park, but neither of the pair have been scintillating in front of goal this term.
Hooper, on the other hand, would arrive at Newcastle with bags of confidence – and with Wednesday said to be looking at around £6 million for the forward, he could be a value buy.

Newcastle have ambitious aims in the Premier League, and Hooper may not have the quality to be a long-term option for Benitez’s side. But he is a striker in-form, and if he could continue to hit the back of the net after January, then he would quickly pay back his relatively cheap price tag and help Newcastle’s cause – as they look to establish themselves back at the top level.
