The Glasgow Rangers striker is reportedly being eyed by English clubs and he could go down a storm at Newcastle United.

According to a recent report from the Scotsman, five English Championship clubs are keeping a close eye on Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, but top-flight Newcastle United should also throw their hat into the ring considering their need for a prolific front man.
Rangers will have no desire to part company with the summer signing so soon, even with English clubs sniffing round after the 21-year-old hit the ground running at Ibrox, scoring eight goals in his first nine matches for the Gers. But if the Colombian does ultimately leave, Newcastle could be his ideal destination.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez had a tough transfer window, although he did ultimately make some canny investments. However one area of the side that was not strengthened was up front, and Morelos has the innate talent in front of goal to become a St. James’ Park favourite were he to arrive.
Still only 21, the Rangers player has outstanding ability in front of goal and he could grow into one of Britain’s finest goal-scorers.

It has been a while since Newcastle had one of those, and they should ensure they are front of the queue if and when he does become available.
Given Morelos’s early season form at Rangers, and the fact he has a contract at Ibrox until the summer of 2020, it would take a hefty bid to prise him away.
That said, Newcastle will only go so far without a 20-plus a season striker and, from what we have seen so far, the Rangers man could be that solution.
