Newcastle United have previously been interested in signing the Liverpool striker.
According to a report from Goal, Liverpool are still yet to receive a formal offer fro Daniel Sturridge, and could be forced into lowering their £15 million valuation of the striker, which could, in turn, tempt Newcastle into going back in for him.
The 28-year-old has endured a torrid time with injuries over the past few years, and the Reds really should reconsider the £15 million price-tag that they have slapped on his head.
Sturridge’s failed loan stint at West Brom last season would have served as a warning to any potential suitors for his signature, but if Liverpool lower their demands, he might just be worth the risk.
And Newcastle’s need for an out-and-out goalscorer could see them go back in for the prolific striker.

Sturridge joined Liverpool from Chelsea in January 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12 million, and he has gone on to score 63 goals in 133 games for the Merseyside outfit.
He is the kind of forward who will guarantee you a goal every two games, and that is exactly the type of striker that Newcastle are crying out for.
Despite his injury problems, if the Toon could pick him up for around half of the £15 million that Liverpool want, it might just be worth taking a punt on the 26-capped England international.
And if Sturridge can somehow remain injury free, he could turn out to be an excellent signing for Newcastle.
