Liverpoo academy product Wilson is reportedly interesting two Premier League sides.
Premier League duo Fulham and Huddersfield Town are reportedly battling it out to sign Liverpool’s exciting young winger Harry Wilson this summer, but Newcastle should look to blow their rivals out of the water for Wilson’s signature.
The Daily Mirror claim Fulham and Huddersfield are set to go toe to toe for 21-year-old Wilson, who shone during a loan spell with Championship side Hull City last season.
Joining the Tigers in January, Wilson scored seven goals and laid on another four assists in 13 Championship outings – after scoring 10 goals in 12 Premier League 2 appearances for Liverpool’s second string.
Despite his explosive form, Wilson could leave Anfield with huge competition preventing the youngster from breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s senior set-up. He has made just one senior Reds appearance in the FA Cup against Plymouth.
The likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and more sit above the four-time Wales international in the pecking order on Merseyside.
The report claims Liverpool want him to go out on loan, but Fulham and Huddersfield are willing to pay £7million to land the wing wizard. But with Benitez said to be after a winger, Wilson fits the bill perfectly.
Wilson boasts plenty of speed on and off the ball, bags of skill and an unwavering eye for goal that Newcastle desperately need. Jacob Murphy struggled for game time last season, while Kenedy is likely to return to Chelsea.
The Toon need a player that can produce something out of nothing and if Liverpool are willing to sell Wilson for £7million, then Newcastle should do all they can to land the up-and-coming star.
Rafa Benitez, then, should go out of his way to raid former side Liverpool and land Wilson this summer.
