The Tottenham Hotspur full-back could be the ideal signing for Newcastle United, although Everton are interested in a summer move.

Reports linking Spurs right-back Kieran Trippier with a move to Everton began to circulate this morning, with the Blues contemplating a £6 million summer move for the 26-year-old, according to the Mirror.
If Tottenham are willing to sanction the former Burnley man’s exit, there will surely be a lengthy queue of clubs interested in obtaining his signature, and the Magpies should seriously consider entering the race to sign him.
Newcastle currently sit in second spot in the Championship table, and with a 10 point advantage over third placed Huddersfield Town, they look to be in a very strong position form which to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.
And if they do manage to do that, Rafa Benitez will surely be looking to add genuine quality, along with depth, to his squad.
The Tyneside outfit have a fairly strong squad on the whole, but one particular are of concern is the right-back position, with DeAndre Yedlin’s persistent injury problems, and Jesus Gamez’ failure to adapt to the physical intensity of the English game.
Added to that, Vurnon Anita is still yet to agree terms on a new deal, with his contract at St James’ Park set to expire in the summer.
So the addition of a top class right-back will surely feature highly on Benitez’ priority list this summer.

And who better than Trippier?
He has showcased his incredible athleticism when playing for Spurs this season, and has proven that he is a real asset in an attacking sense, just as much as he is an accomplished defender.
With Kyle Walker still ahead of him in the pecking order, however, he may have to leave Tottenham in order to gain regular first-team football, and it is debatable whether he would receive that at Goodison Park.
So Newcastle could be a better option for Trippier, and his presence amongst Benitez’ side would undoubtedly improve them, both defensively and offensively.
