Will Newcastle United and West Ham United be alerted to the rumour about Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey?

According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal are willing to let Aaron Ramsey leave the club this summer.

The Welsh midfielder is out of contract in North London in the summer of 2019 and, according to The Daily Mail, the Gunners are keen to avoid the debacle which saw Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil enter into the final year of their respective deals.

If true, an array of Premier League clubs will be interested, but Newcastle United and West Ham United should be top of the queue.

West Ham boss David Moyes admitted throughout January that he wanted a Premier League-hardened midfielder to take the Irons forward in the second half of the campaign, but the Scot failed to find one.

You can see why Moyes wanted such a player, because goals from central midfield have been lacking at the Hammers. Mark Noble, with three goals, is their highest-scoring midfielder this season – and two of those were penalties.

It’s a similar story at Newcastle, whose highest-scoring midfielder is Mo Diame with two goals and someone like the Wales international would improve both sides in that regard.

Ramsey, who has a Premier League hat-trick to his name this season, would not only be more of a goal threat than West Ham and Newcastle’s current options, but the Wales international is also a dynamic figure that both relegation-threatened sides lack in midfield at the moment.

The 27-year-old has scored six and set up six goals in the Premier League this season and, if he really is available, Newcastle and West Ham aren’t in a position to turn up their nose at such a talent.
