Glasgow Rangers winger Daniel Candeias is set to be out of contract at Ibrox at the end of next season.

Of all of the signings that Pedro Caixinha oversaw during his brief tenure at Ibrox, Daniel Candeias has to be up there amongst the very best having enjoyed a very promising first season with Rangers.
BBC Sport reported when the Portuguese arrived that he had signed a two-year deal with the club, and that may mean that the club feel that they could soon have a decision to make as he gradually approaches the final year of his contract.

It is probably fair to suggest that Candeias has probably never quite won over the entirety of the Rangers fanbase, but it could certainly be argued that the Gers should look to open talks with the winger about a new deal in the coming months.
Though his overall form has not always been the most impressive, he deserves a huge amount of praise for how productive he has been since joining the Light Blues.

No player in the Scottish Premiership has provided as many assists as Candeias this term, and his seventh and most recent highlighted how much quality he possesses when he is at his best.
The 29-year-old was given the ball in a wide area during the first-half of the Gers’ clash with Partick Thistle. And rather than take the ball under control and dart down the line, the Portuguese drove a brilliantly-weighted, first-time pass across the box into the path of Josh Windass, who found the back of the net to give Graeme Murty’s men the lead.
The cross demonstrated just how much accuracy and composure Candeias possesses, and means that he has already matched the tally of last season’s most prolific assist-provider in the Rangers squad in the league.
And the latest assist just provides another reminder that even though the winger can go through some extremely frustrating spells, there is a player of immense quality there, and letting his contract run down may be a gamble.
