Glasgow Rangers defender Myles Beerman may be kicking himself over leaving Ibrox during the January transfer window.

When Rangers confirmed that Myles Beerman had left the club for a loan spell with Queen of the South during the January transfer window, it seemed to be widely accepted that it was a smart move for all parties.
Beerman is out of contract at Ibrox at the end of the season, according to transfermarkt, and found his path to the Gers first-team blocked by the excellent form of Declan John, whose initial loan move was made permanent ahead of the window.

And with Lee Wallace also looking to make himself available to Graeme Murty around this stage of the season, it seemed that letting Beerman leave on loan would give the Malta youngster the best chance to prove to his parent club that he is capable of being good enough.
However, circumstances this month may now leave Beerman kicking himself somewhat for moving away as it could be argued that he may have stood a better chance of first-team football at Ibrox than with the Championship side.

The 18-year-old has played for Queen of the South for 14 minutes this month, not featuring in the squad for the game against St Mirren and proving to be an unused substitute against Morton.
Meanwhile, Murty deployed Andy Halliday at left-back for Tuesday’s trip to St Johnstone with Wallace still not back from injury and John sustaining a groin problem that has left him a doubt for next weekend’s Old Firm game, according to the Daily Record.
Halliday’s display attracted a mixed response from the supporters – though many thought he did very well in an unnatural position – and it could be argued that he may not have started the game had Murty been able to select Beerman.
Beerman could not have known when he left that he would struggle for minutes out on loan and that his parent club would see both of their first-choice left-backs sidelined due to injury, but he may still be cursing his luck that the opening that he would have been hoping for during the first half of the season has seemingly opened up now that he has moved elsewhere.
