Everton have been linked with the Charlton Athletic youngster.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton continue to monitor Charlton Athletic defender Ezri Konsa, with the Toffees sending scouts to watch the 20-year-old in action for Blackburn Rovers at the weekend. But should the talented defender think long and hard about a move to Goodison Park given the struggles of Michael Keane earlier in the campaign?
After all, Keane was regarded as one of the finest centre-backs in England last season, with his performances for Burnley earning him a £30million move to Merseyside (as reported by the BBC).

The problem is, that price tag and the pressure that comes with it has seen Keane struggle, and while much of that is down to the woeful form of those around him during Ronald Koeman’s doomed final few months in charge, it shows that even players with plenty of top flight experience can fluff their lines.
In contrast, Konsa is only just beginning his footballing career, with 60 appearances for League One Charlton Athletic and plenty of years ahead of him.

He will know that his next move could be vital for his development and, while Everton are famed for giving youth a chance, Konsa’s former Charlton teammate Ademola Lookman has barely featured since he made his own own.
Centre-back is always a tough position and one mistake can blight you for weeks, meaning Konsa may be best served continuing his development where the spotlight is not so bright.
Everton already have one relatively young centre-back needing to rediscover his form after a rocky start, adding another to the mix may not be the right plan at this stage of his development.
