Should Liverpool hijack move for Lucas Moura in January?

Liverpool are said to have made contact with PSG last month over signing Julian Draxler instead, but should Jurgen Klopp hijack the move for Lucas?

The Reds were linked with a move for the Brazilian in May but it never materialised and the added competition of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe has seen the 25-year-old make five cameo appearances in Ligue 1 this season.
Nevertheless, Lucas, who scored one and set up another during those cameos, remains a brilliant player and surely the French giants would prefer to sell in January rather than loan him out.

It seems only a matter of time before Barcelona return for Philippe Coutinho and Lucas is simply a lot more similar to his compatriot than Draxler, touted to join Liverpool last month.
According to Transfermarkt, Lucas is worth £34.2 million. It’s a lot of money, but not when you consider the modern market, not when you consider his talent and not when you consider his age.
At 25, Lucas’s best years are still ahead of him and Liverpool should do all they can to make sure they’re the ones who benefit from his prime.
