Signing a defensive midfielder is a priority for Liverpool. Should the Reds consider a move for Adrien Rabiot?
Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp
Liverpool should be looking to sign a top class defensive midfielder this summer. The Reds have not had a world class defensive midfielder since Javier Mascherano left the club in 2010 for Barcelona.
Jurgen Klopp will have money to spend, and Liverpool must bring in a top quality central midfielder in order to compete with the big boys in the coming season.
With Jordan Henderson struggling with injuries, Lucas Leiva likely to leave the club, and Emre Can not quite fulfilling his potential, signing a holding / defensive midfielder is a pressing need for the Reds.
The Reds should make a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot. The French midfielder is only 22 but is a class act.

With 2.3 tackles per game and 1.4 interceptions, according to whoscored.com, Rabiot has shown his class at the heart of the PSG midfield.
He is good at tackling, dribbling, and passing (89.9% passing accuracy in Ligue 1 this season) and has scored four goals this season in all competitions.
Liverpool need someone who is good at passing and at the same time same time can act as a safety for the back four. Rabiot fits the bill perfectly.
Most importantly, Rabiot has a contract till 2019, and Liverpool could tempt him with a handsome offer.
