Leeds United were linked with a move for the Brentford defender in 2016.

Leeds United are expected to receive a seven-figure sum for Charlie Taylor, once the left-back’s inevitable exit is finalised.
But should they use the money on Brentford’s Rico Henry, who was a target for the Whites in 2016 – according to The Daily Mail.
Do Leeds need another left-back?
Gaetano Berardi performed admirably in Taylor’s absence, while young Tyler Denton has shown glimpses of his ability. Nevertheless, the former is after all a natural right-back, and his services are likely to be required elsewhere from time to time, while the latter lacks experience at senior level. A more specialised option is perhaps advisable, therefore.

Why Henry?
He’s regarded as one of the country’s top teens following his breakthrough at Walsall last season, in which time a number of Premier League clubs are said to have taken an interest. Brentford won the race for his signature back in August, thanks no doubt to the presence of manager Dean Smith, who handed Henry his professional debut. And while a shoulder injury delayed his Bees bow until February, the England Under-20 international has earned rave reviews since then.

So could Leeds get him?
Brentford paid around £1.5 million for Henry, and are sure to want more than that if, of course, they are willing to let him go at all. The Bees’ end of season form is cause for optimism ahead of the new campaign, although that could soon be wiped away if, like in the previous two summers, the bigger clubs come calling for their top talents. If Leeds are serious about a promotion push next term, they could be tough to turn down.
Should Leeds United target Henry as Taylor’s replacement?
