Should Leeds United take a look at in-form striker Lasse Vibe?

It’s no secret that Leeds United need a striker but time is running out. With Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe both scoring in Saturday’s 4-3 defeat by Millwall, there might be a temptation by Director of Football Victor Orta to stick with what he has.
But Lassoga and Roofe are nowhere near consistent or reliable enough to fire Leeds into the top six come May and, really, they need another option.
With that in mind, should United spend the remaining week of the January transfer window trying to sign Brentford striker Lasse Vibe?

The 30-year-old, who has 36 Championship goals in three season at Griffin Park, is out of contract in the summer according to Transfermarkt and there doesn’t seem to be any progress after Dean Smith claimed on December 31 that he wanted the 30-year-old to remain at the Bees beyond the expiration of his current deal.
The Denmark forward has seven Championship goals in his last eight games for Brentford and Leeds could put them in an awkward position by making an offer for the £2.25 million-rated striker (Transfermarkt).

Smith will either have to sell up or risk losing him for free and, with Denmark going to the World Cup, it wouldn’t be a good look for Brentford if Vibe, whose last cap for his country came in July, went to Russia and impressed, after Brentford lost him for free.
He doesn’t have an outstanding record, but seven goals in his last eight games indicates that he is capable of the type of consistency that Lasogga and Roofe are not, with both of their hauls this season interspersed over the course of six months.
Neither have scored in more than two successive Championship matches this season, which is indicative of the problem and the Whites could do a lot worse than Vibe.
