Leeds United allowed Alex Cairns to leave to join Chesterfield two years ago.

Leeds United may just be regretting allowing Alex Cairns to leave Elland Road back in 2015, as his impressive form at Fleetwood Town continues.
Cairns has kept goal for Fleetwood over the past two seasons, and he has looked very impressive at League One level.
The 24-year-old helped Fleetwood unexpectedly mount a challenge for League One promotion last term, and although the Cod Army fell short in the play offs, they have simply picked up where they left off this time around.

Uwe Rosler’s side appear to be a threat to the top six places once again, and Cairns’ reliable performances in goal are a major reason behind this.
Leeds, meanwhile, have some uncertainty over their goalkeeping position at this moment in time.
Felix Wiedwald is currently Thomas Christiansen’s number one, but the German stopper has not looked totally assured since arriving in the summer.

Back-up Andy Lonergan is also at Elland Road, but he is 33 – hardly a long-term option.
And Leeds may just have to look on with some regret, as Cairns’ career continues to go from strength to strength at Fleetwood.
