Leeds United may have a second chance to sign Jordan Hugill in the summer, after missing out on him in the January transfer window.
Leeds went Hugill just three months ago, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, but they failed to get a deal over the line.
It looked as if Leeds had missed their opportunity to snap up Hugill, as the striker ended up moving to West Ham United in an £8 million switch (Daily Mail).
However, it seems that Hugill’s stay at the London Stadium could be a very brief one.
Hugill has played just 28 minutes worth of Premier League football since moving to West Ham, and The Sun now claim that he will be put up for sale.
West Ham are likely to have to take a loss on the target-man, due to his lack of impact, and that could open the door for Leeds to make a move.
Paul Heckingbottom’s side badly need to bring in a quality forward for next season, as they have lacked a clinical forward this term.
And, despite his struggles at West Ham, Hugill could be the right man for Leeds.
Hugill has proven to be a real weapon at Championship level, during his time with Preston.
And there is little doubt that Hugill would be a significant upgrade on Leeds’ current striking options.
