Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers have a striker in Kenny Miller who could be a good signing for Leeds United in the January transfer window.
Kenny Miller is back training with the Rangers first team, according to pictures posted on the club’s official website.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha left the former Celtic striker out of his team against Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Premiership last week.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, the striker had fallen out of favour with Caixinha and turned out for the Gers’ development team against the Brentford reserves last weekend.
It now seems that Miller is back in the first-team fold, but that should not deter Leeds United from making a move for the hugely experienced striker in the January transfer window.
Leeds are reportedly looking to sign a striker in January, with ESPN claiming interest in Liverpool’s Danny Ings.
The 25-year-old England international striker has been affected by injuries during his time at Anfield so far, and there is an element of risk involved in the Whites signing him in January, even on loan.
On the other hand, Miller would provide a certain degree of certainty. Having played in England before with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Derby County and Cardiff City, the Scotsman knows what the Championship is all about.
True, at the age of 37, the former Hibernian striker is not going to play week in and week out for Leeds, but he would provide with a lot of experience and leadership upfront.
Miller would be a valuable asset coming off the substitutes’ bench, and his experience in playing big matches such as the Old Firm derby between Rangers and Celtic will be massive for Thomas Christiansen’s team in the second half of the season and in the playoffs.
