Should Leeds United take another dip in the Swedish market this summer?

Leeds United’s record of signing Swedish players has been rather mixed in recent years.
Pontus Jansson has become a big success following his two years at Elland Road, but Marcus Antonsson, who joined Leeds shortly before his compatriot, struggled in his first season and ultimately spent last term on loan with Blackburn Rovers in League One.
And then there is Pawel Cibicki, but there is a long, long way to go before the £1.5 million man pays off his price-tag.
Although Jansson was signed from an Italian club, recruiting three Swedes in two years indicates that Leeds know a bit about players of that nationality, and should they look at Kerim Mrabti next?

According to Belgian outlet HLN, the 24-year-old winger, who can also play up front, was a target of Newcastle United in January, and if Rafael Benitez considered him Premier League quality then surely that’s a positive sign for any Championship club.
Mrabti, who has scored 10 goals in 30 starts for Djurgarden, is out of contract with the Swedish club in December and HLN adds that he could available for a maximum of £1.3 million.
The Whites need to bolster their wide options during the summer months, and £1.3 million for a player that a Premier League club reportedly wanted – and one with three Sweden caps – could wind up being a very shrewd move.
