Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Patrick Bamford from Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window, and Leeds United would be wise to join the race for the former Chelsea forward.

According to The Nottingham Post, Middlesbrough forward Bamford is on the radar of Forest, with Reds’ manager Aitor Karanka having worked with the forward at Middlesbrough.

The Reds will be challenging for the Championship playoffs next season, and if Forest manager Karanka thinks that the 24-year-old forward is good enough for his promotion-chasing team, then he is good enough for Leeds.

Just like Forest, Leeds will also be aiming to win promotion to the Premier League, and the Whites need a proven goalscorer.

Bamford, who joined Middlesbrough from Chelsea in January 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £6 million, knows the Championship inside out and has already shown what he is capable of at this level.

During the 2017-18 season, the former Chelsea man scored 11 goals in 23 Championship starts for Boro, while back in 2014-15, the 24-year-old found the net 17 goals in 34 league starts for Middlesbrough.

The forward has not done much of note in the Premier League, but he is a proven Championship goalscorer, and Leeds would be wise to at least make an enquiry.
