Leeds United boss Garry Monk has been linked with Norwich City recently.

According to the Daily Mirror, Norwich City have placed Leeds United manager Garry Monk at the top of their wishlist to take over at Carrow Road.

If Leeds fail to make the play offs, Norwich believe that they may have a chance of appointing Monk – with his future at Elland Road still uncertain.

Monk has not been offered a new contract at Leeds, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.

And, judging by Monk’s comments about Norwich’s squad earlier in the season, he could be enthused by a move to the East Anglian side.

“For me, Norwich is my favourites to win the league,” he said back in October to the Eastern Daily Press.

“I know Newcastle are up there as well, but for me Norwich have kept a lot of their squad which were with them in the Premier League and they have added some good players in the summer. They are a squad which has been together in a higher league, so you expect it (the match on Tuesday night) to be tough.”

Of course, Monk’s prediction has turned out to be incorrect, as Norwich have badly unperformed this season.

Norwich are currently behind Leeds in the Championship table, after a disappointing campaign.

The Canaries in eighth place, as things stand, with no chance of making the play offs.

Leeds, on the other hand, do have an opportunity to make it into the promotion deciding fixtures.

The Whites are likely to need to win their final two matches and hope other results go in their favour, if they are to make it into the top six.
