The Leicester City striker could be a useful addition to the Leeds United squad this summer.

Leeds United manager Garry MonkGarry Monk resigned as Leeds manager last week

The Whites endured a successful campaign on the whole in the Championship this term, despite their disappointing end to the season, and will be looking to go one step further next time around.

Following Garry Monk’s resignation, however, uncertain times seem to have retuned to Elland Road, and a busy summer will be ahead of whoever takes the reigns at Leeds.

One Whites star in particular whose future is unclear is Chris Wood, and the club should already be putting a contingency plan in place, should the 25-year-old eventually leave the club.

With this in mind, an ideal option for them could be Foxes striker Leonardo Ulloa, whose contract at the King Power Stadium has just one year left to run.

The East Midlands outfit will surely be open to selling the Argentine, rather than lose him for nothing next year, and the West Yorkshire side should not hesitate in making a move.

Irrelevant of whether Wood stays or goes, Ulloa would add so much to the Leeds side. He is powerfully built, extremely strong in the air, and puts in a tremendous shift for his team – something that will be particularly important during the long and arduous Championship campaign.

One stumbling block could be in convincing the Leicester man to drop down a division, but the guarantee of regular first-team football could help swing the scales in Leeds’ favour.

Whilst most Whites fans would not be happy with the prospect of losing Chris Wood, that might very well become a reality over the summer, and if the New Zealand international does in fact leave for pastures new, Ulloa would be a very respectable replacement.
