Leeds United appear to have put a new striker on their January shopping list.
A report in The Sun has suggested that Leeds United are set to be left disappointed in their pursuit of West Ham striker Ashley Fletcher as the Hammers are unlikely to allow him to leave on loan. So if Garry Monk is still determined to bolster his attacking ranks in January, perhaps it would be worth taking a gamble.
With Chris Wood maintaining his excellent form currently, while the likes of Marcus Antonsson, Kemar Roofe and Souleymane Doukara have shown glimpses of quality in recent times, it is arguably not essential for Monk to sign a new forward in a couple of months time.

With that in mind, perhaps it may be worth taking a chance by offering a short-term deal to young German striker Samed Yesil, who, until this summer, had been on Liverpool’s books.
Though injuries hampered his time on Merseyside, he often looked to be a highly talented prospect when involved with the Reds’ youth-team, that could have potentially pressed for more than the two League Cup appearances he did ultimately make for the club.

Now he is a free agent, it may make some sense for the Whites to consider a deal, even if it is on a short-term basis. If he can stay fit, Yesil has the potential to be a very good addition.
Though his record in club football is uninspiring currently, his tally at youth level for the German national team is frightening.
In 33 games at the various age levels, he scored a staggering 31 times, so he clearly has the ability to be ruthless in front of goal so could perfectly complement the variety that Leeds’ current attacking options boasts.
And as Yesil’s arrival would not hurt Leeds’ transfer funds too severely, it is surely a gamble worth taking, as, if it pays off, United may enhance their play-off chances enormously.
