Josh Tymon is one of the most exciting prospects in the top two tiers of English football, so perhaps Leeds United should target a move.

A recent report from ESPN suggested that Hull City left-back Josh Tymon was being targeted by Premier League sides Liverpool, Stoke and Watford, while Championship heavyweights Aston Villa were also keen on the 18-year-old.

Tymon is still yet to sign a professional deal with the Tigers so would be available for a compensation fee this summer (via ESPN). And while it may be an ambitious bid given the calibre of the teams already involved in the chase, it would perhaps be wise for Leeds to try and tempt the defender to make the move across Yorkshire.

The Whites need to bolster their options on the left-hand side of defence this summer, with Charlie Taylor out of contract, leaving whoever the new manager will be with Gaetano Berardi and the largely unproven Tyler Denton to pick from.

While Berardi was often a colossus on the left this past season, it would arguably be a gamble for the next boss to rely on him with the Swiss more naturally a right-back, also providing cover for Luke Ayling.

Tymon impressed during Hull’s year in the top flight, so it is hardly surprising that there are a number of Premier League sides interested in signing him.

While Leeds may not initially appear to be the first choice if they were to enter the running, the fact that he may be able to enjoy more first-team football at Elland Road should be something that Andrea Radrizzani uses to try and sell the club to the teenager.

It would certainly be an ambitious swoop on the Whites’ part, but given that he would be available for a compensation fee and may perhaps like the idea of staying in the second tier to get more game-time under his belt, it is surely worth Leeds at least attempting to strike a deal.
