Leeds United should look at Yohann Pele if Marcelo Bielsa is appointed.

It’s probably pretty obvious that Leeds United need a new goalkeeper this summer.
Leeds took a big backwards step last summer by signing Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan to replace Rob Green and Marco Silvestri.
Wiedwald has proven himself a disaster following an error-prone first season in the Championship and although Lonergan was the lesser of the two evils, he clearly couldn’t be trusted either.
Bailey Peacock-Farrell finished last season as the Whites’ first-choice keeper, but he will need competition next term and one perfect option could be Yohann Pele.

The 35-year-old is out of contract at Marseille at the end of this month [Transfermarkt], having been brought to the Stade Vélodrome by Marcelo Bielsa who, of course, is heavily tipped to take over at Leeds.
Pele, who stands at 6’5, is clearly coming toward the end of his playing career, but he was a mainstay for the Ligue 1 giants during the 2016-17 campaign and kept more clean sheets than any other keeper in Europe.
The Frenchman is an old hand, but also a reliable one and Peacock-Farrell, very much at the beginning of his professional career, could learn a lot from him.
If Bielsa does become United’s next head coach, there are far worse options for goalkeepers out there, as Leeds proved last summer.
